Time for an unusual one today. Acanthophippium mantinianum is endemic to the Philippines. There are only 14 accepted species in this genus. This species is a terrestrial species that is found from 500 to 1500 meters (1,640 to 4,921 feet) in shaded, mountainous regions. It blooms in the summer with up to five fleshy, highly fragrant flowers.
